Agatha Christie Death on the Nile has been officially revealed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, with a brand-new trailer and a confirmed release window of September 2025. This new adaptation of the classic mystery is being developed by Microids Studio Lyon and builds on their previous work with Murder on the Orient Express.
A fresh mystery with two perspectives
Set in the 1970s, Death on the Nile puts players in control of two lead characters: the iconic Hercule Poirot and a brand-new detective named Jane Royce. As the story unfolds, players switch between both protagonists to investigate a murder aboard a luxury Nile cruise. The case soon expands far beyond the river, spanning locations across London, Majorca, New York and Egypt.
The dual-perspective design offers new layers of storytelling, giving players different tools, approaches, and insights depending on who they are controlling. It’s a narrative-heavy experience designed for fans of detailed investigations and slow-burn mysteries.
Upgraded gameplay and new systems
Agatha Christie Death on the Nile brings enhanced mechanics compared to its predecessor, including:
- A confrontation system for directly challenging suspects
- An updated mind map feature for connecting evidence and forming conclusions
- Expanded exploration and detective tools including stealth, shadowing, and lock-picking
- Character dossiers that evolve as you gather information
The game keeps the spirit of Agatha Christie’s work but introduces new surprises, fresh locations, and gameplay twists that extend beyond the original novel.
