Borderlands 2 is the quintessential looter-shooter, a genre-defining experience developed by Gearbox Software. Set on the unforgiving planet of Pandora, players take on the role of one of four new Vault Hunters on a quest for revenge against the brilliantly evil and charismatic corporate tyrant, Handsome Jack. Famed for its unique cel-shaded art style, irreverent humour, and a procedurally generated loot system that boasts “bazillions” of guns, the game delivers a relentless cycle of chaotic firefights, rewarding exploration, and deep character customization.

The game is built from the ground up for cooperative play, allowing up to four players to drop in and out of the action seamlessly. The core gameplay loop involves taking on a vast array of story missions and bizarre side-quests, defeating hordes of psychos, robots, and native creatures, and constantly being rewarded with new and more powerful weapons and gear. On modern Xbox consoles, the game is best experienced through Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which bundles Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with all of their respective DLC, offering hundreds of hours of content.
