There’s an Xbox Partner Preview happening on November the 20th, and for once it feels like we’re actually getting a bit of good news out of Xbox. We’re getting 007 First Light, Tides of Annihilation and a fresh look at Reanimal, which is the new one from the people behind Little Nightmares. So already, decent enough lineup to keep folk paying attention.
The Big Thing: Xbox Play Anywhere
The main thing jumping out to me is this simple but massive detail. Every single game they’re showing at this Partner Preview is Xbox Play Anywhere.
This is the big Xbox plan going forward. Not just for the next console but right now. Buy the game once, play it on Xbox or PC, and usually cloud gets included too. It’s literally what it says on the tin. Buy once, play anywhere.
This is the direction Xbox is pushing harder and harder, and this showcase just screams that strategy.
Game Pass Will Be In Here Too
We all know Xbox can’t resist a Game Pass drop, so yeah, expect announcements. Even if they don’t make a big song and dance about it, something will be sliding in there. Everything we’re hearing points to these titles hitting Xbox and Xbox on PC together, which fits the whole push for Play Anywhere being the core of their future.
